I created a new page today. It’s a reading list of books that I enjoyed and I think you should take a look at them. They all have been awarded the callmeanxious symbol of approval. I also provided links to the books for sale on Amazon. You could probaly find them other places on the net for cheaper, linking to Amazon was just the easiest. So do a search on them if you do decide to buy them to see if you can find them cheaper.
I will be adding to the list often so make sure to check back often.
As you are probaly well aware, marijuana is an illegal substance in America.
Potato chips on the other hand, are not. The question is why aren’t they illegal like Marijuana is?
Potato chips can be very hazardous to your health when not consumed in moderation. They can lead to obesity, heart attack, addiction, diabetes, and many other dangerous health problems.
Hell, potato chips probably kill more people than Marijuana does.
So, I say, if marijuana is illegal than potato chips should be illegal as well. In fact, we should legalize pot and make potato chips illegal.
Hey Government! Don’t tell me what to put in my body. Piss off politicians! Legalize marijuana!
I would like to invite everyone to rediscover the web by switching to Mozilla Firefox, especially if you are still using Internet Explorer. It’s an easy change to make and once you do, you will probaly wonder how you ever browsed the web without it. It has many advantages over Internet Explorer such as extensions, themes, tabs, not too mention faster and more secure browsing.
I switched over a year ago and am very happy I did. I hope you will too!
I will let it be known that I do not have many friends. It’s not that people don’t really like, it’s that I don’t really like people. I also have some problems with social skills that I can’t control (stuttering).
I can’t have friends who are right-wing or think my politics are stupid. I just…can’t. I can’t be with someone I can’t respect.
I live in a conservative and rural area and go to a small school. I don’t have much of a batch of people to choose friends out of. People tell me that I shouldn’t be so picky, but I tell them I have to be. I actually enjoy it that way.
Hopefully when I move out of the town I’m living in now, I will have more access to potential friends. I have some internet friends, they do mean a lot to me, but they are just on the internet. I would like to visit them, but that is difficult given my situation.
Oh how I can’t wait to get out of here.
I’ve recently gotten into a bad habit of lying. It’s not that I’m being dishonest, they’re more like little white lies.
I lie about the most normal things too. I may tell people I’m a year older or younger for no reason. Someone might ask me where I’ve been and instead of telling them that I was that the market, I will tell them I was at the drug store. I lie for no apparant reason. It’s become a habit.
It has become a problem because I have to maintain all these lies so people don’t think that I’m lying. I’ve gotten somewhat good at it too.
Maybe I’m just practicing for the times when I really do have to lie and maintain that lie.
I saw a hitchhiker today. It reminded me of the refusal of capitalism that is still going on in everyday life.
Hitchhiking strikes American capitalism at it’s very core, privacy. Picking up a hitchhiker breaks the bond between two strangers and turns it into a very intimate act.
Hitchhiking is another act of mutual aid. One person materially benefits (by receiving free transportation), but they both mentally benefit (by enjoying each others company). Since picking up a hitchhiker is a purely voluntary act, the service is a pleasurable one.
Hitchhiking defies the notion that we must pay money to change locations. This is a false notion, as hitchhiking shows.
Hitchhiking is a refusal of capitalism, it is a revolutionary act.
Onward hitchhikers and those who pick them up!
If this doesn’t put it the situation in perspective for you, I don’t know what will.
The Intellectual, the Pseudo-Intellectuals, and the Philistines.
Of all three, I think that the pseudo-intellectuals are my least favorite.
The Intellectual: These are people who like to read. They take in information they read and digest it. They carefully analyze and critique it. They may read a book by a philosopher, they will rarely agree with all of it, but may agree with some of the points. Intellectuals are thinkers. They bring new ideas to the board.
The Pseudo-Intellectual: These are people who also like to read. They are especially proud of themselves when they read a book by a famous classical author. They will agree with all of the points made in the book. They will do no critiquing or analyzing of their own. All they do is recite ideas they have heard, they never come up with new ones. They simply regurgitate information. They are the well-groomed products of the current state of schools. Never bringing new ideas to the table, just repeating old ones.
The Philistine: The philistine is someone who can be saved from their monotonous, everyday life of repetition, which they find quite satisfying in fact. They often haven’t been exposed to intellectual ideas. They are content in reading car magazines and watching sitcoms. They are a sad bunch of people, but not as desperate as the pseudo-intellectual.
In Conclusion: I think the point I would like to make is that we should all become true intellectuals. We should all become critical thinkers and analyzers. Life would be much more enjoyable, truly enjoyable, not car magazine/sitcom enjoyable.
I was at the store a few days ago when some females approached me when I was grabbing some Milk from the refridgerator and they began flirting with me. I didn’t even think I was that good looking, but that’s not the point. Few words were exchanged before the girls dissappeared forever.
Why do people do this? Are they expecting a big conversation to begin where we become friends? I could understand if they actually stayed and started a discussion, but why run off? Maybe they were embarrassed. I can understand that, I’m very shy.
People puzzle me!
Music is not to be passively heard.
Music is to be actively experienced. Listened to. Felt. Danced to.
